Job description

Established Metairie law firm seeks an experienced Legal Secretary to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of insurance defense experience. Experience in employment law and/or estate planning is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of insurance defense experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, document management systems, and digital transcription
  • Typing speed of 80+ WPM
  • Experience with electronic filing in both Federal and State courts
  • Ability to prepare and process subpoenas
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal secretarial support for 2–3 attorneys
  • Calendaring and scheduling
  • Enter attorney time daily, as needed
  • Prepare, file, and manage legal documents
  • Handle court filings, subpoenas, and related administrative tasks
  • Maintain and organized client files and assist with day-to-day office operations

Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
