Job description

Location: Houston, TX 77019

100% Onsite

Job Description:

This position will be responsible for Ensuring the accuracy of all payroll tax system settings for tax regulation and legislation compliance.

Job Responsibilities May Include:

  • Collaborating with internal configuration owners and 3rd party outsource providers to analyze and resolve any discrepancies in withholdings and tax transmissions
  • Researching and leading efforts to implement new tax jurisdictions and legislative changes by; developing business requirements, teaming up with internal configuration owners by defining a solid test plan, ensuring expected results are demonstrated through the testing process and verifying business changes are correctly implemented
  • Researching and providing feedback on complex tax issues and future tax implementation changes
  • Leading internal year-end tax reconciliation process and overseeing the distribution of accurate annual statements of earnings including W-2as (U.S), T4as (Canada) and RL-1as (Canada)
  • Auditing the accuracy of payroll tax filings, domestic and international
  • Assisting in the resolution of out of balance payroll tax accounts with payroll accounting
  • Supporting direct leadership in the development and implementation of internal payroll tax business process to ensure efficiency levels are always being satisfied throughout the year

Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting

Experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Tax Accounting
