Job description

STS Technical Services is hiring an experienced Field Service Technician in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to support our clients with equipment diagnostics, repair, and maintenance. As a Field Service Technician, you will work independently in a fast-paced environment, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and performing essential maintenance on generators, engines, and related equipment. This role requires up to 75% travel within the assigned area, offering a unique opportunity for hands-on work and customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, including load banking and analyzing voltage requirements, in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Customer Training & Support: Educate customers on the use of equipment and explain the benefits of services provided.
  • Communication with Dispatch: Keep Dispatch updated throughout the day on service progress and next assignments.
  • Record-Keeping & Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of services performed, mileage, expenses, and billable hours; manage associated equipment and inventory.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in electrical work, repair, installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting of generators, engines, or similar equipment is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to independently diagnose equipment errors.
  • Driver's License: Must maintain a valid driver's license to travel to customer locations.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to frequently lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 75% of the year; transportation methods may vary.
