The Spring is growing and is hiring a part time Advocate Support for Wednesday-Saturday, 6pm-10pm. Must be 21 to transport guests.The Spring is a faith-based service provider, shelter, and advocacy organization for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking. We offer a safe home and supportive services that assist survivors and their children on their journey out of abuse.The Shelter Support Advocate assists shelter staff with crisis calls, monitoring of entry and exit of guest and visitor traffic, and day to day administrative duties specific to guest advocacy and services.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Answer calls on the crisis line, provide crisis Intervention Information, safety planning and advocacy to caller; complete required intake documentationPerform day-to-day shelter operations, advocacy and victim-centered, trauma-informed care services for guestsProvide supportive services to program participants including but not limited to immediate needs, referrals, crisis intervention and emergency assistance, etc. Maintain a working knowledge of resources and services available in the communities servedDocument all information regarding crisis calls and direct services as required by policy and procedureAssist in creating a positive cultural environment of personal leadership, communications and teamwork within the shelter and throughout the organizationTransport guests in The Spring vehicle as neededMonitor Entry and exit of guest and visitor trafficAssist in daily charting on guests in specific filesSupport meal preparation, transportation, children's activities, program specific events and monitor guest activity as neededBe available for emergencies and respond accordinglyAttend training as needed to meet domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking standardsAvailable to work agreed-upon hours each weekQUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalentExperience in domestic violence or sexual assault field, volunteer experience, or related experience is suggestedExperience working with diverse people and groupsMust be able to sign The Spring's Statement of FaithMust have valid Oklahoma driver's licenseKNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse issues and trendsAble to successfully handle multiple demands and perform effectively despite changing prioritiesWilling and able to develop relationships with guests and their children within professional boundariesAbility to respond to physical emergencies, including immediate evacuation of buildings and potential client medical and behavior situationsAbility to maintain client confidentialityWilling and able to work both independently and as a team memberAbility to excel in results-oriented, challenging environment; demonstrate flexibility while keeping attention to detailExcellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skillsStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to handle multiple priorities.Ability to manage and resolve conflictExcellent initiative, integrity and strong sense of professionalismProficiency in office software, such as Microsoft Office 365 productsAbility to excel in results-oriented, challenging environmentThe Spring is committed to providing a benefits package that strives to meet the needs of its employees and their dependents.
