As a Surgical Technologist in the OR, you will play a critical role in supporting surgeons and registered nurses throughout operative procedures to help ensure safe, efficient, and exceptional patient care. Responsibilities include preparing sterile instruments and equipment, setting up surgical tables, assisting during procedures, maintaining the sterile field, and supporting instrument decontamination and sterilization after surgery. This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on operative experience while making a meaningful impact on patients and caregivers every day.
This caregiver role is a day shift position with required on-call coverage.
During the 3-month orientation period, the schedule is Monday-Friday, from 7:00am - 3:30pm
The required on-call rotation includes:
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform scrub functions and assist in circulating functions under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Set up the sterile table and ensure appropriate supplies, drugs and equipment are available.
Assists RN in counting all sponges, instruments, etc. at appropriate times during surgery.
Assist in gowning and gloving surgical team members and draping patients.
Ensure aseptic condition is maintained by the scrubbed surgical team through the procedure.
Participate in the intraoperative "timeout."
Collect, identify and label specimens removed during surgical procedures and gives specimens to circulator for disposition.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduateof a Surgical Technology Program accredited through CCAAHEP or ABHES
OR Certification as a Surgical Technologist (TS-C or CST)
OR completion of a military Surgical Technology Program
Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires working under stressful conditions of working irregular hours.
Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $28.50
Maximum hourly: $39.00
