Job description

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
The Mobile Network Architect is a high-level technical lead responsible for the end-to-end design, strategy, and evolution of mobile network infrastructure. This role bridges the gap between business objectives and technical implementation, ensuring the network is scalable, secure, and capable of supporting next-generation technologies like 5G, LTE, and IoT. You will define the roadmap for network architecture, overseeing the transition from legacy systems to cloud-native, virtualized environments.
• Experience with Private 5G networks for industrial use cases (Industry 4.0).
• Knowledge of automation and orchestration tools (ONAP, Ansible, Python scripting).
• Understanding of VoLTE/VoNR (Voice over New Radio) and IMS architectures.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Oversee the technical integration of new network elements and features into the live environment.
• Collaborate with vendors to evaluate and select hardware/software solutions (e.g., Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, Samsung, Mavenir).
• Analyze network KPIs to identify bottlenecks and design architectural changes for capacity planning and optimization.
• Ensure "Security by Design" principles are applied across all network layers, ensuring compliance with global telecom standards (3GPP, ETSI).
• Act as the primary technical advisor to C-level executives regarding technology investments and spectrum utilization.
• Mentor engineering teams and provide guidance on complex troubleshooting escalations (Tier 4 support).
• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience: 15+ years of experience in mobile network engineering, with at least 3 years in an architectural or lead design role.
Generic Managerial Skills:
• Crisis Management Staying calm during a massive network outage to direct the NOC team effectively.
• Stakeholder Mgmt. Explaining to non-technical C-level execs why a costly 5G core upgrade is necessary for business revenue.
• Vendor Negotiation Pushing back on equipment vendors (like Ericsson/Nokia) when they fail to meet SLAs or delivery dates.
• Cross-functional Collaboration Getting the Radio (RAN) and Transmission (Transport) teams to work together to solve a latency issue.
Salary Range: $130,000-$155,000 a year
