Job description

Job Title: Night Shift Operator (10pm-6am)
Location: Lockhart, TX
Starting Pay: $19.00/hour
Schedule: 40 hours per week with set days off
Benefits: Begin on the first day after 60 days of employment

As theOperator,your essential functionswillinclude but are not limited to:

  • Ensuremachines are running properly at the proper speed.

  • Assists Maintenance to ensure machines are in proper operational condition.

  • Draws mix for production

  • Completes downtime reports and production sheets forshift.

  • Ensurequality standards of products are met.

  • Ensures the proper number of supplies is present for the shift.

  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of production lines, producing qualityZiegenfeldertreats for delivery to customers.

  • Leading and driving a team in a manner consistent withZiegenfelderValues.

  • Followsall GMP and SQF procedures and practices.

  • Assistsin training new personnel.

  • Ensuresthe workarea is clean and organized.

  • Train and drive a team in a manner consistent withZiegenfelderValues.

  • Supporting Safety,Qualityand the Operation Teams to produce and package qualityZiegenfeldertreats.

  • Ensure that environmental and safety expectations aremetduring the shift and that exceptions,needsopportunities are addressed and shared via our Event Management application.

  • Verify production paperwork to confirm completion and accuracy of raw material usage logs, metal detector calibrations, and product quality checks.

  • Undertaking proper corrective/preventative actions when there is a safety, quality, or defective product event.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1+ years of experience inmanagementor leadership rolerequired, preferably in the food manufacturing environment.

  • 1-3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment highly preferred.

  • Ability to motivate and leadina fast-paced environment.

  • Mechanical or operational background, in addition to the above qualifications, is a plus.

  • Must be available to work allshiftsto include weekends and holidays.

  • Demonstrated ability to read,writeand speak English.

Physical Abilities

  • Standing up to 8 hours per day.

  • Bending, twisting,reachingand grasping actions.

  • Good spatial awareness working around manufacturing equipment.

  • May need to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 30 lbs. of forcefrequently, and up to 10 lbs. of force constantly.

  • Mayneed to climb, balance, stoop, crouch, reach, stand, push, and pullfrequentlyduring a shift.

Working Conditions

  • Subject to cold temperatures of less than 32F for more than one hour with proper protection equipment.

  • May be subject to noise above 85 decibels with proper protection equipment.
