Job description

General Description:

Under the direction of an assigned Facilities Services Group (FSG) Supervisor, this position is responsible for completing routine service maintenance and the repair, replacement, or installation of HVAC equipment for an assigned customer or customer groups on time and within budget.

Essential/Typical Duties:

  • Schedule routine maintenance for assigned customer(s) in accordance with ACCO's approved internal procedures.
  • Complete routine and dispatched assignments in a timely, efficient manner each maintenance period or within promised timeframes, and maintain contact with office dispatch before, during, and prior to close of ACCO standard dispatch hours.
  • Purchase or order required material and equipment required for routine maintenance or requested repairs.
  • Fully prepare mechanic work orders/authorizations and follow approved procedures for documenting work performed, related tool purchases, customer work approval, and any other relevant information.
  • Escalate customer service issues that extend beyond authority or assistance to assigned Supervisor or customer's assigned Service Sales personnel.
  • Display proper service appearance and deportment while on customer premises, and utilize ACCO property (e.g., service truck, cell phone, and/or laptop) appropriately.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or General Service Manager.

Position Requirements (Skills, Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses, etc.):

  • High school diploma, Certificate of G.E.D, or certificate of completion in an apprenticeship program in HVAC & refrigeration, or similar trade or technical program completion.
  • Experience with commercial HVAC-R mechanical service and repair
  • Self-motivated, energetic, ambitious and have a positive attitude.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong track record of successfully interacting with customers.
  • Ability to utilize a personal computer.
  • Willingness and ability to attend ACCO and Union training sessions (signatory sponsorship will be provided to non-signatory applicants hired for the position).
  • Valid (non-commercial) driver's license with MVR that meets ACCO's risk insurance standards.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Wages: 

This position is for signatory employees and wages will be in alignment with the current Collective Bargaining Agreements.
