What is a 49er?

A 49er refers to a person who participated in the California Gold Rush of 1849. These individuals traveled to California from across the United States and the world in search of fortune by mining for gold. The term '49er' comes from the year 1849, which was the peak year of the gold rush. 49ers faced challenging conditions, including long journeys, difficult mining work, and uncertain prospects. The influx of 49ers helped shape California's development and contributed to its rapid population growth.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a 49er?

To thrive as a 49er (professional miner), you need strong physical stamina, basic knowledge of geology, and experience with mining techniques, usually acquired through on-the-job training or vocational education. Familiarity with mining equipment, safety protocols, and sometimes certifications in heavy machinery operation are commonly required. Resilience, teamwork, and the ability to work long hours in challenging environments are vital soft skills. These competencies are crucial to ensure safe, efficient extraction of resources and to maintain personal well-being in a demanding field.

What are common safety challenges faced by 49ers, and how are they addressed?

49ers, or miners working in gold mining operations, often face safety challenges such as exposure to hazardous materials, cave-ins, and operating heavy machinery. To address these risks, mining companies implement strict safety protocols, provide regular training, and require the use of protective equipment. Team communication and adherence to safety procedures are essential to minimize accidents and ensure a secure work environment. Understanding and following these measures is critical for anyone considering a career in mining.

Job description

First Class Charter Inc is a family owned business located in Hayward, California.
Since 2011, we are serving Northern California's casino on a daily bases. Our shuttle services are morning, Noon, afternoon and evening schedules. Due to COVID-19 most of the casinos stopped their bus program and currently, we are serving only Graton Hotel and casino in Rohnert Park, California. We also occasionally have charters that we book all around California ranging from smaller events like (49er games & airport transfers) to large scale events like Music festivals, weddings, and national parks.
For our casino shuttle service our routes are fixed and all pickup and drop off locations are the same every day, making it very easy to learn and understand the routes (90% of drivers only require 1 day of training/orientation). Each route has three pickup points and we drop off the passengers at the same locations. No GPS needed! Our routes cover cities such as San Leandro, Hayward, Newark, Milpitas and San Jose.
Current Base Pay (NOT including tips) is 175.00 per day based on Minimum WAGE, however Full time drivers can make anywhere between 1000-1500$ just in tips every month! Thats 12-15K per year just in tips!!! All for you to keep for yourself! Part time drivers (depending on the days worked) can make upwards to 50-75$ in tips per day doing Casino Shuttles! Weekends are extremely busy with 25 to 30 buses going out on Saturdays and Sundays Collectively. We have had employees with excellent "Driver Side Manner" make upwards to 200 and even 300$ in tips in 1 day by being safe and likable drivers to our customers. Drivers Side Manner and customer service is Key! Please ask employer for more information regarding payroll.
We are looking for Full time and part time drivers. Drivers must be flexible for all the schedules and willing to work in any available routes, however we are flexible and will work with your schedule to create a shift that works for both sides. Your driving times can vary but won't ever exceed 4-6 hours per day since the distance to the casino is very short.
All Drivers must have a valid commercial class A or B licenses with passenger & AirBrake Endorsement as well as a valid Medical exam certificate. All our vehicles are 45 foot motor coaches and we prefer experienced drivers but its not a requirement as we can train you.
Candidates must have a clean driving record. Most of our passengers are senior Citizens and we need reliable and safe drivers with excellent customer service, as you will be servicing the elderly and taking them to the casino.
Please have your Resume ready and apply today, if you would like to join with us. We look forward to welcoming you to the First Class Family.
