Job description

RN Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Sane

Part-Time On-site Noblesville, IN 46060, USA

Job Responsibilities
  • Obtain consent and patient history to formulate a plan of care as well as assess and conduct safety planning for victims and their families
  • Collaborate with medical providers, victim advocates, law enforcement, Department of Child Services and other social service agencies to ensure optimal patient outcomes and enhancement of the patient experience
  • Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, families, and coworkers
  • Coordinate care by all agencies involved in assisting the sexual assault victim and coordinate referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up as needed
  • Assess, collect, and analyze comprehensive objective, subjective, psychosocial, and cultural data pertinent to patient condition
  • Perform a complete physical and forensic examination for assessment for trauma with possible evidence collection when applicable
  • Document detailed injuries with the support of photographic evidence as required
  • Provide courtroom testimony related to the care and treatment provided
  • Other duties as assigned
Education Requirements
  • Minimum: Graduate of an accredited Associate Registered Nurse Program by date of hire
  • Preferred: BSN
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum: One (1) year of clinical experience as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner
License/Certification Requirements

Minimum:

  • Registered Nurse License eligible to practice in the state of Indiana
  • Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Designation
  • Basic Life Safety (BLS) - American Heart Association

Preferred:

  • Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners Certification (SANE) - International Association of Forensic Nurses
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through AHA within six (6) months of hire
Qualifications Required

Associates or better in Nursing

Licenses & Certifications

BLS- Basic Life Support

Registered Nurse
