What is a 4 month?

A '4 Month' job typically refers to a temporary or contract position that lasts for a duration of four months. These jobs are often offered to meet short-term business needs, such as covering for an employee on leave, managing increased workloads during peak times, or assisting with specific projects. They can be found in various industries and may be full-time or part-time. Four-month jobs are a good option for those seeking short-term work experience or flexibility in their schedules.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a 4 month employee, and why are they important?

To thrive in a four-month contract or temporary position, you generally need relevant job-specific skills, basic qualifications for the field, and the ability to quickly adapt to new environments. Familiarity with common business software or industry-specific tools may be required, depending on the role. Strong time management, communication, and adaptability help you integrate quickly and contribute effectively within a short period. These skills are crucial for maximizing impact and meeting employer expectations in a limited timeframe.

Job description

Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in the Montclaire neighborhood of South Charlotte in finding a Temporary (6 months) Full-Time Nanny for their 4-month-old boy. The nanny would be needed Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. The candidate would have flexibility to occasionally stay later during the week in exchange for leaving early on Fridays.

The best nanny for this family would be dependable, punctual, nurturing, and safety-focused, with a strong background in infant care. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator who will keep an open line of communication with the parents.

The nanny will provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care while maintaining the child's established daily routine, incorporating daily walks, visits to local parks, library story times, and other community outings into the child's routine. At home, the nanny will actively engage the child through reading, singing, tummy time, and play that supports developmental milestones. A key responsibility of this position is ensuring strict compliance with the child's prescribed wearing of boots and bar braces for ongoing medical treatment of clubfoot. Strict compliance is the families top priority. The ideal candidate will be proactive, observant, and maintain open communication with the family regarding the child's daily activities and routines.

Above all, the family is seeking a warm, engaging nanny who prioritizes safety, values routine, enjoys spending time outdoors, and is dedicated to supporting the child's healthy growth and development. Mom works from home in a designated office; the nanny should be comfortable with that and respect proper work-from-home boundaries.

Nanny Responsibilities Include:

  • Meeting daily scheduling needs of the child (Feeding, Changing, Napping)

  • Engaging with the child on an age-appropriate level

  • Playing with the child both inside and outside the home

  • Doing hands-on learning activities with the child

Household Duties Include (Child is first priority):

  • Child’s laundry and changing child’s sheets weekly

  • Child’s meal prep

  • Unloading/loading dishwasher and sanitizing bottles

  • Wiping down kitchen counters

  • Sanitizing toys and frequently used surfaces by the child

  • Emptying the diaper pail

Pets: The family has a long-haired cat that is friendly but skittish and docile. It will be rare for the nanny to even see him, and there will be no pet responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Have at least 3 years of professional nanny experience

  • Have a college degree or equivalent experience

  • Have a professional resume

  • Fill out a complete online application

  • Pass a pre-screening interview with Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency

  • Pass a national background check, including a driving record check

  • Have a valid driver’s license

  • Have safe and reliable transportation

  • Have a minimum of three professional references

  • Be non-smoking/vaping

  • CPR and First Aid Certified

  • Nanny should be fluent in English; any additional languages are a plus

  • Must be up to date on childhood vaccinations and TDAP before starting the position.

Start Date, Salary, and Benefits:

  • This position starts October 5th and ends April 2nd, 2027 (6 month position)

  • Legal pay is offered at $25 - $28 an hour, negotiable depending on experience

  • Continued pay while the family is away

  • One week of paid time off

  • 3 Paid Sick Days

  • The family will provide a vehicle for driving on the job

  • Paid Major Holidays

  • Annual performance-based bonus
