Job description

Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Management Focus
Lead the operational performance and governance of ASML's third-party logistics warehouse partners, ensuring reliable service, inventory accuracy, quality, compliance, cost control, and continuous improvement.
Introduction to the Job
As a Warehouse Operations Manager at ASML, you will serve as the primary operational lead responsible for managing and governing third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse providers that support ASML's manufacturing, field service, inventory control, and reverse logistics operations. You will ensure external logistics partners meet ASML's expectations for inventory accuracy, service levels, quality, compliance, cost, capacity, and delivery performance.
Rather than directly supervising day-to-day warehouse labor, you will drive results through external provider leadership. You will establish clear expectations, monitor performance, lead operational reviews, manage escalations, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained. You will build strong partnerships across ASML and with the 3PL while maintaining accountability for business outcomes.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Warehouse Operations Manager, you will own the operational governance and performance of outsourced warehouse operations. You will work closely with 3PL leadership, logistics partners, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and support changing business needs.
3PL Governance and Performance Management
  • Serve as the primary operational relationship manager for third-party warehouse providers.

  • Establish, monitor, and continuously improve contractual service-level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational scorecards.

  • Conduct regular operational reviews and formal business reviews with 3PL leadership, including performance trends, risks, capacity, quality, cost, and improvement priorities.

  • Hold external providers accountable for receiving, putaway, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, ticket resolution, returns processing, and reverse logistics.

  • Drive root-cause analysis and corrective-action plans when inventory, quality, safety, delivery, cost, or service targets are missed.

  • Escalate recurring or material performance issues through defined governance channels and verify that corrective actions are implemented and sustained.

  • Influence provider performance without direct authority by setting clear expectations, using data, and maintaining constructive accountability.

  • Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain stakeholders to support contract execution, scope alignment, and service expectations.

Warehouse Operations and Material Flow
  • Ensure inbound and outbound material flow supports manufacturing, field service, inventory control, and reverse logistics requirements.

  • Monitor warehouse capacity, space utilization, workflow efficiency, throughput, labor readiness, shrinkage, and operational risk.

  • Ensure the 3PL maintains safe, compliant, accurate, and reliable processes across all warehouse activities.

  • Coordinate changing business priorities, volume fluctuations, urgent material needs, and capacity constraints with the provider and internal stakeholders.

  • Oversee returns, RMA, disposition, and reverse-logistics performance, including turnaround time, traceability, and inventory accuracy.

Inventory, Quality, and Continuous Improvement
  • Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counting, physical inventories, audits, reconciliation, discrepancy resolution, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.

  • Monitor inventory accuracy, transaction quality, aging, shrinkage, damage, and material traceability across the external warehouse operation.

  • Challenge existing processes and lead improvement initiatives that strengthen quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and operational reliability.

  • Use warehouse data and provider reporting to identify trends, quantify risk, and prioritize practical improvement opportunities.

  • Ensure provider procedures and controls meet ASML quality, safety, security, and compliance expectations.

Financial and Resource Management
  • Oversee annual warehouse budget planning, monthly cost tracking, forecast updates, and resource planning with the 3PL.

  • Review provider labor, overtime, capacity, productivity, accessorial charges, and other cost drivers to ensure efficient execution.

  • Partner with the provider and internal teams to develop business cases, cost-reduction opportunities, and investment recommendations.

Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Build strong working relationships with Supply Chain, Procurement, Planning, Quality, Manufacturing, Field Service, Finance, and logistics partners.

  • Communicate priorities, risks, decisions, status updates, and escalations clearly to internal stakeholders and provider leadership.

  • Balance day-to-day operational details with broader supply chain and business priorities.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, operations management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience managing established contract-logistics or 3PL warehouse providers in a complex, high-volume environment.
  • Experience managing warehouse operations through outsourced providers rather than solely through directly employed warehouse teams.

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in 3PL warehouse operations.

  • At least 3 years of direct experience managing, governing, or overseeing third-party logistics providers, outsourced warehouse operations, or contract logistics partners.

  • Demonstrated experience holding external warehouse providers accountable to SLAs, operational KPIs, inventory-accuracy expectations, quality requirements, and corrective-action plans.

  • Experience conducting provider performance reviews, business reviews, scorecard discussions, and escalations with 3PL leadership.

  • Experience supporting 3PL warehouse operations in a manufacturing, technology, medical-device, aerospace, semiconductor, or service-parts environment.

  • Experience with 3PL warehouse budgets, cost tracking, capacity planning, and provider resource planning.

  • Ability to work on-site and travel up to 25%, based on business needs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, medical device, aerospace, capital equipment, or complex service-parts logistics.

  • Experience with SAP, warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory-control systems, dashboards, and provider scorecard reporting.

  • Lean, Six Sigma, continuous-improvement, or supply-chain certification.

  • Experience with reverse logistics, RMA, repair loops, returns, and disposition processes.

Success in This Role
Success will be measured by the ability to improve and sustain 3PL performance across inventory accuracy, receiving and shipping execution, service levels, quality, safety, capacity, cost, reverse logistics, issue resolution, and stakeholder satisfaction. The successful candidate will demonstrate that they can combine partnership with accountability and drive results through an external provider organization.
