8 PM - 8 AM

SUMMARY
Guards campus against fire, theft, vandalism, unsafe conditions, and illegal entry by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
  • Patrols, periodically, buildings and grounds of campus
  • Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure
  • Assures that all employees, residents, and visitors follow established policies and procedures
  • Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred
  • Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked
  • Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Permits authorized persons to enter property
  • Responds to resident call bells
  • Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning machinery or equipment in security log for each shift
  • In an emergency, may perform simple maintenance duties
  • Keeps entry ways and main sidewalks free of ice and snow and calls grounds contractor as necessary
  • Complies with safety procedures, infection control and standard precautions
  • Complies with confidentiality and residents' rights
  • Complies with all CARF/CCAC guidelines and standards
  • Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect for and attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services
