Job description

We are designing the grid of the future! 

EPE is looking to recruit a Senior Manager who will direct and manage a team of electrical engineers to perform specific power system analyses including steady state (generation deliverability), dynamics, short circuit, EMT studies using various power system software.


How you can make an impact:

  • Oversee the timely completion of projects while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
  • Interact with Clients to seek input and address their needs and concerns with respect to the project(s) study scope of work.
  • Train, develop and grow the capabilities of engineers within the team and the larger organization.
  • Perform advanced and specialized studies of the power grid utilizing industry standard analysis platforms such as PLSF, PSS/e, TARA, ASPEN, CAPE, and PSCAD (preferred).
  • Develop and review transmission study methodologies and processes, and lead process improvement efforts, identifying opportunities to enhance organizational efficiencies focused on maximizing team bandwidth while ensuring quality and timeliness of client deliverables.
  • Support business development activities, including development of RFP responses & scope of work statements for clients, outlining EPE deliverables and projected completion dates.

Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering with a focus on Power Systems (advanced degree preferred)
  • 10+ years in the electric energy industry, with experience in power system studies, design studies, and/or interconnection process.
  • Experience in IBR modeling, generation and load interconnection, and transmission planning studies primarily focused on the Western Interconnected system (WECC).
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation
