Job description

ATI is hiring an Inspection Technicians for our Huntsville, Alabama facility. This is a 3rd shift position with working hours from 10:30 pm - 7:00 am. Training will take place on 1st shift.

Primary Responsibilities:

As an Inspection Technician you will ensure the quality of the product through dimension measurement and inspection to meet our customer requirements.

Leading these processes and strategies ensures that we are achieving conformance and producing quality product that meets our customer requirements and ATI goals and objectives.

In order to become successful and provide immediate impact you will have to quickly learn ATI and our processes and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Engineering & Quality. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills are included in the skillset of a successful Inspection Technician.

Essential Duties:

  • Inspectmaterials to meet customer requirements for assigned jobs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using various inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, lasermics, etc., through practical application and written exams.
  • Verify surface quality of common materials based on established acceptance/reject criteria.
  • Package materials according to the Quality plan, accurately identifying them as per procedures and QC plan.
  • Read and comprehend procedures and quality plans pertaining to inspection activities.
  • Ensure proper calibration of various instruments before each batch of material inspection.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures related to safety, security, and environmental standards, including following 5S rules and practices.
  • Make informed decisions regarding rework, scrap, and storage of products, with proficiency in OPM (Operations Process Management) including material allocation and step closure.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and collaborate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and management.

As part of this role and to appropriately inspect parts, you must be able to pass an eye exam.
