Managing a team of roughly 35 personnel, this position plays a pivotal role in ensuring floor safety, maintaining product standards, hitting output targets, driving efficiency, and promoting continuous operational growth.ZPMLSTCM

Responsibilities

  • Shift & Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor a 3rd-shift team of ~35 technicians and production employees. Foster a collaborative work environment, address workplace issues promptly, and recognize team contributions.
  • Safety & Workplace Standards: Drive a safety-first culture on the floor, upholding company regulations and verifying that safety guidelines are actively followed across the shift.
  • Production Coordination: Translate technical drawings, job sheets, and production orders into clear shift tasks. Requisition necessary materials, tooling, and shop floor supplies to maintain uninterrupted production schedules.
  • Operational Execution: Set shift priorities and monitor floor workflows in real time. Guide operators to fulfill work orders efficiently while maintaining strict standards for quality, budget, and turn time.
  • Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and suggest practical workplace or equipment adjustments to boost daily throughput and overall shop capacity.
  • Cross-Shift Communication: Track team attendance, shift metrics, and output logs. Work alongside supervisors from preceding shifts to guarantee smooth handoffs and operational continuity.
  • System Usage: Leverage shop floor management software, CAD, MRP II systems, SAP, and Microsoft Office for daily reporting and process tracking.
  • Flexible Engagement: Comply with operational policies and attend occasional daytime briefings, audits, or training workshops as necessary.
