Job description

Position Summary
The 3rd Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations during first shift to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. This role leads production team members, coordinates workflow, monitors performance, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to maintain efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead production employees during 3rd shift, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.

  • Monitor daily production schedules and adjust staffing or workflow to meet output targets and customer demands.

  • Train, coach, and develop team members while addressing performance issues and maintaining high employee engagement.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality procedures.

  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and warehouse teams to resolve production issues and minimize downtime.

  • Track and report production metrics including efficiency, scrap, and downtime.

  • Conduct shift meetings to communicate production goals, updates, and safety reminders.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve processes.

  • Maintain accurate documentation including production reports, attendance, and incident reports.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 3+ years of production or manufacturing leadership experience.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety practices, and quality standards.

  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Experience with ERP or production tracking systems preferred.
