Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Systems Technician to join our security business unit.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform repair/maintenance and moves, adds and changes of Mission Critical systems throughout New England, including but not limited to: Security(CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion) & Wireless Communication
  • Perform low voltage cable installation, cable management, cable terminations, device installation, and other assigned service duties as required
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems and/ or equipment as necessary
  • Complete Preventative Maintenance and system upgrades for systems as required
  • Complete test reports and deficiency repairs for systems as required
  • Produce accurate documentation of the all service performed on calls or tasks as assigned
  • Provide daily updates, as required, and communication to the Service Team Lead for all assigned calls or tasks
  • Perform detailed site survey visits to identify client needs and/or upgrade opportunities
  • Think clearly and logistically to make accurate decisions based on personal and professional judgement and verifiable criteria
  • Ability to independently service small to medium sized Mission Critical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret service/project scopes, one lines, floor plans, submittals, specifications, test reports and other related project documentation
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills, especially working in occupied and sensitive environments
  • Proficient in cabling best practices- running, supporting, and terminating category rated and multiconductor cabling
  • Experience/ certified with Fire Stopping; must be able to fire-stop any penetrations made or found
  • Basic understanding of computers and basic Microsoft Windows Applications
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (wired and wireless)
  • Demonstrate basic skills required to configure and troubleshoot device connectivity (LAN and Internet access)
  • Proficient with low voltage crimp tools, testing tools (meters, toners, etc.) and the use of other construction related tools
  • Ability to demonstrate persistence, tactfulness, and responsibility; maintain silence regarding confidential information; make decisions based on personal judgement and verifiable criteria; deal effectively with people in actual job duties beyond giving and receiving instruction
  • Demonstrate skills to provide competent customer service using active listening and empathy during various interactions (i.e., in-person, phone, email, and chat)
  • Must be self-motivated and work well with others in a team environment

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2-4 years' experience with the service/installation and commissioning of low voltage/ Data Communication systems including Security (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion) and Wireless Communication
  • Minimum of 2-4 years' experience related to all job duties of this position is required
  • Service, construction and/ or Industry experience required
  • Experience Cabling, low voltage infrastructure & terminations per all applicable state, local codes and BICSI standards required
  • Experience with Mission Critical Systems- Security (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion) and Wireless Communication required
  • Experience with the following systems preferred: Honeywell Pro Watch, Software House, AMAG, Genetec, DMP, Avigilon, Hirsch, Lenel S2, Bosch, Milestone, Ceragon, Cambium, Siklu
  • OSHA 10
  • MA State D-License (Required for MA Security work)
  • Reliable transportation, valid drivers' license and acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to travel throughout New England as required (RI, MA, CT, NH, ME)
  • Must be able to work off hours if/when projects require it (second, third shift and weekends)
  • Must be able to participate in the Service Department on-call rotation as required by SIGNET
  • Must be able to see and hear clearly.
  • Must be able to distinguish between colors (naturally or with correction); speak clearly; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; coordinate eyes and hands rapidly and accurately, use hands to pull cables and wires, use power tools, and work in various positions.
  • Must be able to climb and maintain body balance utilizing ladders, lifts, scaffolding; lift, carry or push objects weighing up to 50 lbs; crouch, stand and/or walk carrying equipment for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in variety of temperature conditions throughout the calendar year; Safety clothing, equipment/ PPE expected at all times.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with integrated security control systems (lock control) within Detention Facilities, Prisons, and Courts and other sensitive environments
  • Industry/ manufacturer certifications
  • RI TST Data Licensing
  • Firestop Certified (Hilti or 3M)
  • Boom and scissor Lift Certified

Salary starting at mid $40's/hour+, commensurate with experience.
