Jr Operations Coordinator – Kitchener, ON.
Employment Type:
 Full-Time | Experience Level: Entry-Level

Compensation: $50,000 Base

Schedule: In-office, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

As a Jr Operations Coordinator, you will provide essential day-to-day support to our team by helping track and trace freight, maintain accurate shipment information, and ensure loads are progressing as expected. You will work closely with our Operations and Sales teams to provide updates, follow up on shipments, and assist with keeping freight moving smoothly across North America.

This is an entry-level, fast-paced role that is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. Previous 3PL or logistics experience is an asset but is not required—we are willing to train the right candidate who is dependable, motivated, and interested in building a career in the transportation and logistics industry. For individuals who demonstrate initiative, drive, and a strong work ethic, this role offers significant potential for rapid growth and career advancement within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Shipment Tracking & Tracing: Monitor shipments throughout the transportation process, track carrier updates, and follow up on loads to ensure accurate and timely status information.
  • Shipment Updates: Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipment information in internal systems, including pickup and delivery statuses, ETAs, and other relevant details.
  • Carrier Follow-Up: Communicate with carriers to obtain shipment updates, confirm pickup and delivery details, and follow up when information is missing or delayed.
  • Data Entry & Documentation: Accurately enter and update shipment information, tracking notes, and other operational documentation in company systems.
  • Operations Support: Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Operations team, including assisting with shipment coordination, organizing information, and completing routine tasks.
  • Issue Escalation: Identify delays, missing information, or potential shipment issues and promptly communicate them to the appropriate Operations team member for resolution.
  • Communication: Communicate professionally with carriers, internal teams, and other relevant parties to ensure accurate information is shared and shipments remain on track.


Key Attributes

  • Education & Experience: Post-secondary education in a relevant field or at least 1 year of logistics/transportation experience is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and CRM systems.

  • Client Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
