Landscape Architect Vice President and Principal in Charge
Role Description: Huitt-Zollars' Phoenix, AZ office has a great opportunity for Licensed VP Landscape Architect/Principal-in-Charge with 12+ years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Landscape Architectural program. This role will lead design teams through all project phases including site analysis, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration. This position works directly with discipline leads, landscape architects, engineers, architects, designers and supporting staff through the above phases of project development.

Duties:
  • Function as a Lead Principal-in-charge and as a Senior Project Manager on key projects.
  • Train/mentor staff and review work for quality assurance.
  • Interface daily with clients, develop proposals, negotiate scopes and fees, ensure timely billing and collections and prepare change orders.
  • Assist the team with research, site analysis, conceptual design and construction documentation for a wide range of project types.
  • Conceptual design, schematic design, design development, producing precise and consistent construction drawings, accurate project detailing and cost estimating.
  • Candidate must be able to work within a multi-discipline company and collaborative, project team setting.
  • Produce graphic presentations and build study models.
  • Manage the preparation of design and construction drawings.
  • Direct a staff with varied levels of experience and expertise.
  • Provide technically sound designs for our clients.
  • Ensure quality controls measures are being adhered to on project delivery.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor from an accredited Landscape Architectural program.
  • Professional Landscape Architect (PLA).
  • 12+ years of relevant experience Landscape Architect experience and project management.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, and have entry level skills and/or interest in LandFX, Photoshop, Sketch Up, 3ds Max, Lumion, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite and other illustration software.

Principal-in-Charge (PIC) Role Annual Performance Goals & Expectations:
  • Having a deep understanding of how your work and contributions as a co-owner add to Huitt-Zollars' mission and core values.
  • Maintaining expected Effective Labor Multiplier (ELM) on sum of all associated projects.
  • Ensure direct reports meet established utilization targets.
  • Consistently upholds business processes including timely monthly A/R's, invoicing, timekeeping, resource forecasting, percent completes, etc.
  • Achieves personal sales goal.
  • Achieves stated target personal utilization goal for PIC.
  • Understands, follows and ensures quality control measures and risk management measures are being applied and adhered to projects and daily operations.
