DLZ Corporation has Survey Project Manager opportunities in Joliet, IL, Chicago, IL or Burns Harbor, IN.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction layout/staking and topographic/boundary survey projects from initial setup through final closeout.
  • Plan and develop project scope, procedures, schedules, and budgets. 
  • Review contracts to identify key requirements, milestones, and deliverables. 
  • Work with Survey Coordinator daily to schedule appropriate field crews for projects. 
  • Ensure projects are completed according to client specifications and contractual obligations.
  • Oversee project quality control and conduct field safety audits.
  • Coordinate surveying work with contractors, engineers, technicians, and office staff.
  • Prepare cost estimates, proposals, and final deliverables. 
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, and change orders, addressing issues proactively. 
  • Supervise survey crews and support staff, including reviewing time sheets, expenses, and work quality. 
  • Maintain strong client relationships, manage correspondence, and resolve project related issues. 
  • Support business development by preparing proposals, pursuing new opportunities, and maintaining ongoing client relationships. 

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Construction, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience with demonstrated success managing surveying or construction-related projects.
  • Strong leadership and client management skills.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Survey Equipment, and Leica Scanners.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to visit and safely navigate construction and projects sites in compliance with safety requirements.
