Graphic Specialist/(2D/3D) Designer – Intermediate

Job Category: Operations

Location: APG, MD or remote

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized 2D/3D modeling, animation, and graphic design support in alignment with CPE IEW&S communication and mission objectives.
  • Proficiency in necessary programs and software products required to perform these functions.
  • Develop and produce custom 2D/3D models and animations to support briefings, training materials, and technical visualizations tailored to Army systems and initiatives.
  • Create dynamic motion graphics, animated sequences, and visual effects that enhance multimedia presentations and digital communications.
  • Design visually cohesive products—such as posters, infographics, and print materials—that integrate 3D renderings and models for both internal and external distribution.
  • Translate complex technical data into accurate and engaging visual content, including schematics, system overviews, and operational workflows.
  • Collaborate with communication teams to storyboard, design, and execute animation projects that align with CPE IEW&S branding and messaging standards.
  • Format and optimize graphic and animated content for use across various platforms including print, PowerPoint, web, and video.
  • Ensure all visual media products comply with Army and CPE IEW&S branding, security, and accessibility requirements.
  • Ability to design and develop new 3D concept, review and improve existing designs and products, create documentation for concepts.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of video game design, forensic animation, architectural modelling, film production, marketing and advertising, and 3D printing.
  • Provide support to website design, development and maintenance desired. Back up support to other digital and creative design efforts.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree - graphic design, 3D computer animation, product design, 3D visual effects production and 3D computer game design
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in the field of 3D design or other related fields
  • Substitution: Associates degree and minimum seven (7) years' experience in the field of 3D design or other related fields. Additional years' experience can substitute for field of study.
  • Portfolio of work may be requested
  • Must be able to create various design layouts and concepts for project with CAD tools. Must be able to use the latest 3D modelling tools and technology, including but not limited to SketchUp, Autodesk, and Altium Designer.
  • A secret security clearance is required.
