Job description

Junior Engineer sought by Amerapex Corporation in Houston, TX, to support engineering design, documentation, and field execution of produced water and wastewater treatment projects across domestic and international sites.
Amerapex Corporation is a technology, engineering, and industrial services company based in Houston, TX, with operations globally, offering technical expertise in processes and facilities.
This position contributes to all phases of environmental project delivery, from process design and procurement coordination to installation, testing, and system optimization; ensuring that each project meets client performance specifications, safety standards, and environmental compliance requirements.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Member of the engineering team that designs and documents water and wastewater treatment systems, remediation projects, lab testing including developing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), isometric drawings, and 3D AutoCAD layouts.
  • Prepare and write technical proposals, equipment datasheets, cost estimates, and project schedules for client submittals.
  • Collaborate with vendors and procurement to obtain quotes, verify equipment specifications, and ensure timely delivery of components (valves, pumps, vessels, and instrumentation).
  • Participate in site assessments, installation planning, and system commissioning activities for modular and skid-mounted treatment units.
  • Collaborate with the client to collect all technical requirements for capital equipment sales.
  • Monitor and document process parameters, flow rates, and treatment performance to ensure systems operate within designed limits.
  • Assist senior engineers and Director in process optimization, troubleshooting, and chemical treatment analysis for produced water and remediation systems.
  • Prepare and update engineering reports, test results, and compliance documentation in accordance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
  • Coordinate communication between engineering, field operations, and clients to ensure project milestones are achieved safely and efficiently.
  • Support development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety documentation for treatment systems.
  • Onsite operations liaison with equipment suppliers.
  • Named Assistant to the Director, Environmental Division, serving as the primary liaison between management, engineering, and field teams.

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, or Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field or foreign equivalent. 3 months of engineering experience in water treatment, process design, or environmental remediation (internship or co-op experience acceptable). Proficiency in Spanish. Understanding of engineering documentation, mass balance calculations, and process flow. Knowledge of pump systems, filtration, and chemical dosing processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) for scheduling and reporting. Availability to travel for assignments that range between one day and two weeks at clients' sites throughout Texas every week.
