Job description

Description:

SENIOR 3D / INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER

At JANSON, design is not decorationโ€”it is mission enablement.

The environments we create help military personnel train more effectively, collaborate more efficiently, build stronger communities, and feel valued for their service. Every project presents an opportunity to improve the daily experience of those who support and defend our nation.

As JANSON continues to expand nationally and internationally, you'll have the opportunity to help shape the future of military modernization, workplace transformation, and immersive environment design while working alongside a team that believes creativity can drive meaningful impact.

If you're looking for work that combines design excellence, innovation, and purpose, we'd love to meet you.

Position Summary

JANSON is seeking a highly creative and technically skilled Senior 3D / Industrial Designer to join our growing Buildings & Environments team in a contract-to-hire capacity. This is a unique opportunity to help transform military installations, government facilities, headquarters environments, and dining facilities into modern, immersive, and highly functional spaces that directly support mission readiness, workforce engagement, and quality of life.

Unlike traditional commercial design roles, your work at JANSON will influence how Warfighters and government professionals learn, collaborate, train, dine, and perform every day.

We are looking for a designer who thrives at the intersection of creativity, storytelling, human-centered design, and technical execution. This position is remote and will initially be structured as a contract engagement with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance and business growth.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

Design Innovative Military & Government Environments

  • Develop creative concepts for military headquarters, administrative offices, dining facilities, training environments, collaboration spaces, and modernization projects.
  • Create experiences that improve functionality, morale, communication and learning that balance aesthetics, functionality, and operational realities.

3D Modeling, Rendering & Visualization

  • Create high-quality 3D models, renderings, fly-throughs, and visual presentations.
  • Develop conceptual and production-level design packages that communicate design intent clearly to customers and project teams.

Industrial & Experiential Design

  • Design custom architectural features, branded environments, exhibits, displays, environmental graphics, furniture concepts, and wayfinding systems.
  • Develop solutions that integrate technology, storytelling, and user experience into physical spaces.

Collaboration & Execution

  • Participate in design reviews, value engineering sessions, and constructability discussions.
  • Ensure designs can be successfully fabricated, installed, and maintained while preserving creative intent.
  • Support field implementation and respond to design-related questions during construction.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in industrial design, experiential design, exhibit design, environmental design, workplace design, interior architecture, or related disciplines.
  • Strong portfolio ability demonstrating innovative 3D visualization, industrial design, custom environments, exhibits, or experiential spaces.
  • Advanced proficiency with SketchUp, Revit, SOLIDWORKS, Rhino, 3ds Max, Blender, or comparable 3D modeling platforms.

We are committed to providing reasonable accommodation to qualified individuals with disabilities. Contact hr@jansoncom.com for assistance
