Job description

Alutiiq Information Managment, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer II - RF Systems in San Diego, CA. The position is onboard Naval Information Warfare Command Pacific (NIWC) to provide support projects as required relating to research, development, test, evaluation, and engineering to Navy, Marine Corps, and other DoD manned and unmanned air systems; avionics; surveillance systems; and air traffic control and communications systems and all related mechanical components. * Design and optimize the radio access network of a Future/5G cellular terrestrial networks. Ability to determine the optimal placement of base stations, configuring antenna systems, and manage radio frequency interference to ensure reliable and efficient communication for end-users. * Conducts network performance analysis, review system requirements, and develops optimization strategies to improve network quality and user experience. * Use unmanned platforms and payload sensors to develop and implement routines/mission plans as well as localization and mapping capabilities. Familiarity with integration of both aerial and ground based vehicles. * Coordinate installation evolutions with government entities and vendor support staff as systems mature. * Assist in the performance of test events for a variety of applications for routine military operations. * Perform ongoing technical review of system documentation to support tenant commands in an ongoing effort to streamline and upgrade operations. * Create and maintain test documents associated with future and ongoing events. * Provide regular technical status reporting to US Government engineers and senior military personnel. * The position will include the creation of 3D CAD models of existing systems derived from laser scanned measurement data. Payrate: $105,000 to $125,000 Annually REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: * B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent certification program * 6+ years' experience with designing, optimizing and maintaining low-latency wireless networks. * Demonstrated ability to perform site surveys, link budgets, and compliance checks. * Experience with MIMO deployment, beamforming optimization, interference mitigation, and ability to analyze network performance using various tools. * Use unmanned platforms and payload sensors to develop and implement routines/mission plans as well as localization and mapping capabilities. Familiarity with integration of both aerial and ground based vehicles. * Ability to provide interpretation and preparation of 3D engineering drawings.
