Position Overview:
The primary function of this job will be to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts and other material handling equipment utilized throughout company operations. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime and supporting safe and efficient operations throughout the facility. It is expected that minimum working hours will generally be Monday-Friday with occasional overtime or Saturday work based on operational needs and circumstance.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on forklifts and material handling equipment.
· Diagnose and repair:
· Hydraulic systems
· Electrical systems
· Propane fuel systems
· Diesel and gas engines
· Steering, brake, mast assemblies and lift systems
· Troubleshoot operational failures and equipment issues.
· Complete inspections and safety checks on equipment.
· Maintain maintenance records and repair documentation.
· Respond to breakdowns and prioritize equipment uptime.
· Coordinate parts ordering and inventory needs.
· Maintain clean and organized work areas.
· Ensure all repairs meet OSHA and company safety standards.
· Communicate equipment concerns and repair status with management and operations staff.
· Assist with general yard duties if needed.

Skills required to perform the duties of the job:
· Strong mechanical and troubleshooting ability.
· Able to work independently and prioritize workload effectively.
· Able to communicate with co-workers and operations staff in a positive and informed manner.
· Able to handle the physical demands of the position including bending, kneeling, climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds.
· Understanding of industrial safety standards and safe work practices.
Educational and work history requirements:
· High school education or equivalent required.
· Minimum 3 years forklift, heavy equipment, diesel, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
· Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial, recycling or wholesale business environments preferred.
· Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
· Previous experience in a scrap yard is a plus.
Licensing or other certifications required:
· Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
Preferred Certifications and Experience:
· Forklift and material handling equipment experience
· OSHA or equipment certifications
· Field service background
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour DOE
