Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists by entering patient information to ensure appropriate medication dosing.
  • Dispense medications accurately and safely to patients.
  • Maintain medication stock and supplies, adhering to safety protocols.

  • Handle insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations promptly.
  • Complete daily and monthly checklists, including expired drug checks and orders.
  • Provide patient counseling and document refusals.

  • Conduct weekly controlled substance counts and document findings.
  • Help train new pharmacy staff.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and engage respectfully with customers and colleagues.
  • Participate in shift change communication hand-offs.
  • Always maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Report unresolved issues to the Pharmacist, Manager.
  • Inform peers about drug shortages, availability, and pricing.
  • Track non-stock requests and offer recommendations.
  • Engage in interim and annual physical inventories.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificate.
  • Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Must be able to pass a math test pertinent to retail pharmacy activities.
  • Must maintain BLS /CPR.
  • Must maintain required certifications.
  • Must have two (2) years healthcare experience.
  • 1+ years pharmacy logistics preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community and the general public.
  • Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Demonstrate project management skills and understanding of 340b regulations, inventory management and managing a cash register.
  • Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize.
  • Computer experience Windows, Excel, and Accounting software.
  • Bilingual preferred.
