This makes the 30 Hours Week role ideal for those seeking work-life balance or part-time opportunities while maintaining a career in software development.

What is a 30 hours week software developer?

A 30 hours week software developer is a professional who works in software development but has a reduced work schedule, typically working 30 hours per week instead of the traditional 40. This arrangement can provide better work-life balance, flexibility, and can be suitable for those managing other responsibilities or seeking reduced hours. These developers perform the same tasks as full-time developers, such as coding, debugging, and collaborating with teams, but within a shorter workweek.

How does working as a 30 hours per week Software Developer impact team collaboration and project delivery?

As a 30 hours per week Software Developer, you’ll often work in teams that include both full-time and part-time members. Clear communication is essential to ensure smooth collaboration, as your availability may differ from others on the team. Many organizations accommodate flexible schedules by leveraging asynchronous communication tools and setting well-defined expectations for deliverables. While you may need to be proactive about syncing up during overlapping hours, this structure can support a healthy work-life balance without compromising project outcomes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a 30 Hours Week Software Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a 30 Hours Week Software Developer, you need strong programming skills, problem-solving abilities, and a relevant degree or coding bootcamp experience. Familiarity with development tools such as Git, integrated development environments (IDEs), and collaboration platforms like Jira or Slack is typically required. Time management, effective communication, and self-motivation are essential soft skills for success in a reduced-hour, flexible role. These skills ensure that developers can produce high-quality code, meet project goals efficiently, and collaborate well within teams despite a part-time schedule.

This role is a great fit for someone who loves fitness, enjoys talking with people, and knows how to create a welcoming experience from the moment someone walks through the door. You'll be the first impression of our studio, helping prospects learn about Orangetheory, guiding them through their first visit, and helping convert interest into membership.
If you're outgoing, organized, motivated by goals, and excited to be part of a team that changes lives, we'd love to meet you.
Schedule

  • We are currently hiring for team members who can support some combination of these shifts:

  • Sell memberships and support studio sales goals
  • Assist with community outreach, events, and local marketing efforts
  • Help keep the front desk, lobby, and studio areas clean and organized
  • Deliver a high-level member experience from check-in to follow-up

A Day in the Life
You'll start your shift by getting the front desk ready, checking messages, and preparing for incoming intros, calls, and member traffic. Throughout the day, you'll greet members by name, answer questions, book classes, and connect with prospective members who are curious about Orangetheory.
When a first-time guest comes in, you'll walk them through the studio, explain the workout, and help them feel comfortable and excited for class. Afterward, you'll follow up, answer questions, and help them find the membership option that fits. In between, you'll support the team, keep the studio organized, and help create the positive, high-energy atmosphere people remember.

  • Paid training to help you learn the role and succeed

  • Positive attitude and team mentality

Jobs That Make a Real Difference
About Us
Orangetheory is a science-based, full-body workout that uses technology to measure performance so members can prove they are improving. In a 60-minute class, led by a highly trained and certified coach, members target at least twelve minutes in the Orange Zone to raise their heart rate and charge up metabolism. The result is an increase in calorie burn post-workout, backed by the science of excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC). After twelve minutes of hard work in the Orange Zone, your body burns additional calories as you recover over the next 24 hours.
Our Philosophy
For us, physical fitness transcends weight loss and bikini season. Fitness is a way of life -- in fact, our brand purpose is to help people live longer, more vibrant lives. When we help our members to put in the work at our studios, they will experience benefits in their day-to-day. They will be physically stronger, but beyond that, they will notice improvements to their mood, cognition, sleep, and overall happiness and quality of life. This workout actually changes your body at the cellular level and has been known to help members through disease, chronic illness, depression, and even heartbreak and the loss of loved ones. They'll simply have the energy to play with their grandchildren, run a 5K, or go hiking. When we can help our members to take care of their body and mind, amazing things can happen. More Orangetheory, More LIFE
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Orangetheory is committed to encouraging, facilitating and upholding an environment centered on diversity, equity and inclusion across every facet of the Orangetheory brand.
