SUMMARY

The Forklift position is responsible for locating and placing bundled raw stock into inventory, panning raw bar stock for distribution, consolidating stock, and returning restock materials to inventory. Material Handlers are also responsible for transporting, stocking, and staging raw and processed manufacturing inventory.

This role requires cross-functional material handling experience, including operating a sit-down forklift and learning how to run the 4Ds used to move large objects weighing up to 300 pounds. Candidates must be comfortable using computers and tablets, including shipping materials through our system. Basic computer skills, the ability to perform heavy lifting, and a strong commitment to safety are essential for this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Move raw material into inventory once receiving is complete.
  • Consolidate material in pan, rack, and arm locations to make space available for new inventory.
  • Assist receiving clerk with unloading incoming raw material.
  • Return and restock material to inventory.
  • Assist in disposal and stocking of non-inventoried items; including cardboard, trash, and scrap material of red rack items dispositioned as scrap.
  • Provide material requirements to Manufacturing team
  • Operate fork-lift and material moving equipment.
  • Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.
  • Must have a knowledge of arithmetic, and ability to read and use a tape measure and caliper, in order to perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Use a computer/electronic equipment to perform data entry.
  • Must be able to interact in-person with coworkers and the public.
  • Must be able to handle high stress situations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
