Rushton is one of Northeast Georgias largest and most respected accounting firms in the region for over 40 years and is seeking a Tax Manager professional in our growing Tax Division.


The Tax Managerworks directly with all levels of the firm, including closely with Associates, Senior Associates, Supervisors and fellow Managers, to build client relationship through tax and services the firm provides. The Tax Manager demonstrates professional creativity in dealing with client matters and make constructive suggestions to improve client operations with leadership. The Tax Manager will have strong communication with staff and the client to effectively prepare tax returns, lead teams, resolve complicated issues and exemplify Rushton's values.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fast Partner track
  • Strong technical skills for review complex returns; state nexus and challenging tax issue, international and/or fiduciary tax a plus.
  • Handles client relationship and communication
  • Ability to do technical research and document to support conclusion.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage the preparation and review process of complex returns in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Resolves complicated tax issues.
  • Handles client matters with department and decision makers.
  • Prepares review notes and trains staff.
  • Demonstrates strong technical knowledge.
  • Is aware of status on staff work prior to planning meetings.
  • Manages budgets and billing center.
  • Team player as part of Tax Department Leadership Team for internal strategic planning and processes


REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

  • BA/BS in Accounting
  • Masters Degree in Taxation or Accounting
  • Professional certification required (CPA or EA)
  • 5+ years of experience with preparing individual and corporate tax returns
    • Strong communication and relationship building skills
    • Ability to manage project timelines and proficiency utilizing accounting technology
    • Availability to work overtime during peak periods throughout the year
    • Successful completion of a background check
    • Valid credentials to work in the U.S.
