Heavy Equipment Operator – Drive Precision Results on Commercial Sitework Projects

Job Overview:

  • Company: ATL Construction Inc.

  • Salary/Pay Rate: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour plus Year-End Bonus.

  • Location: Onsite - East Bridgewater, MA (Various project locations).

  • Job/Employment Type: Full-Time.

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday (Overtime and weekend work available).

  • Project Scope: Commercial Civil Construction / Utilities / Sitework

  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: Hydraulic license 2A/1C, Class D vehicle license, and valid DOT Medical Card.

The Opportunity: As a Heavy Equipment Operator for ATL Construction Inc., you are the backbone of our field operations, transforming blueprints into reality. You will operate heavy machinery on diverse commercial sites and roadways, where your technical skill with GPS systems and heavy iron directly ensures project accuracy. We offer a fast-paced environment where your expertise is respected and your "get it done" attitude is rewarded.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Operate heavy earthmoving equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, skid steers, graders and backhoes, to move materials and earth with precision.

  • Interpret plan sets and configure laser and GPS systems to ensure all site work meets exact engineering specifications.

  • Execute daily preventative maintenance checks, including greasing and fluid level verification, to keep equipment in peak operating condition.

  • Collaborate closely with ground workers and site supervisors to maintain a safe and efficient work environment in tight quarters.

  • Maintain detailed weekly equipment logs and usage reports to track machine productivity and maintenance needs.

  • Adapt equipment operation techniques to navigate various terrains and weather conditions while maintaining project timelines.

  • Uphold strict company safety standards and SOPs to ensure the protection of the team and the job site.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil excavation and commercial site work.

  • Proficiency in reading construction plan sets and setting up grade control lasers or GPS systems.

  • Documented experience operating a variety of attachments, including buckets, forks, and hammers.

  • Possession of a valid Massachusetts 2A hoisting license and class D driver’s license.

  • Valid DOT Medical card.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

  • Advanced knowledge of site drainage, sewer, and utility installation procedures.

  • Proven track record of working safely in high-traffic roadway environments.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues in the field.
