Job description

An established construction company in Woodland Hills is looking for a Construction Estimator.
Job Description:
  • Must be willing to work out of Corporate office in Woodland Hills.
  • Self- perform structural concrete experience.
  • General contracting experience.
  • Multi-Family podium projects.
  • Design/Build Long-span Parking Structures.
  • Detailed quantity Take-offs.
  • Preparing complete project estimates.
  • Preparing general conditions estimates
  • Monitoring cost trends to detect over-runs and potential problem areas.
  • Participating in the value engineering process.
  • Developing, updating, and maintaining unit cost figures, estimating database (s).
  • Interfacing with subcontractors, suppliers, upper management, operations personnel, clients, and potential clients.
  • Follow up on proposals, preconstruction activities and assisting in development of staff.
  • Other duties as may be directed.

Skills required include but are not limited to:
  • An aptitude and desire for growth.
  • Proven ability to develop estimating strategies and procedures.
  • Good subcontractors and supplier's relationships.
  • Abreast of market activity to help position the company for strategic opportunities, and to win projects.
  • Proven ability to develop and expand networks and relationships quickly and within a multitude of settings.
  • Direct experience driving the development of project proposals and interviews.
  • Ability to understand and articulate the company's strategy in various ways.
  • Strong communication abilities; including presentation skills (verbal and written).
