Job description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable CDL Class A Owner Operator to join our team at New World Van Lines. As a crucial member of the New World Van Lines team, this position will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting household goods and possessions between destinations. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 1 year of driving experience and a spotless safety record, demonstrating a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain a Class A commercial motor vehicle in compliance with all state and federal regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Operates the company vehicle by maintaining the safety of the motoring public, self, and company equipment.
  • Safely load, secure, and unload household goods and possessions onto the truck and in a customer’s home, ensuring proper handling and care throughout the transportation process.
  • Plan and execute routes efficiently to ensure timely delivery while adhering to traffic laws and safety guidelines.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and its equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of mileage, hours of service, and other required documentation, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and special requests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with dispatch and other team members to optimize route planning and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to goods or equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized truck cab and trailer, promoting a professional image both internally and to the public.
  • Perform any and all duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience with a verifiable safety record.
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing the transportation industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
