Job description

Wanco Inc. is seeking a Material Handler in our Arvada, CO production facility.

 Summary:

The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, and movement of products to meet company standards of safety, productivity, and quality, consistent with ISO 9001 manufacturing requirements.

The candidate must be able to add value to an already strong and proven team-based culture.

Essential Functions:

-          Safely and efficiently handle and move materials within the stock room and production areas

-          Utilize mechanical knowledge to operate equipment such as RF scanners, order pickers, and occasionally sit-down and stand-up forklifts

-          Load and unload materials from trucks or other transportation vehicles

-          Maintain accurate inventory records using container-based inventory management systems consistent with FIFO methodology

-          Follow proper procedures for labeling, packaging, and storing materials

-          Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including OSHA standards

-          Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications:

·         High school diploma or equivalent qualification. (Required)

·         Physically able to lift up to a maximum of 75 pounds. (Required)

·         Availability to work overtime including weekends. (Required)

·         Strong organizational and communication skills. (Required)

·         2 years’ experience in a similar role. (Preferred)

·         Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) forklift certification. (Preferred)

Preferred Additional Skills:

Previous forklift experience

·         Basic or intermediate understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies including 5S.

·         Understanding of warehouse inventory principles such as stock rotation and velocity in a manufacturing environment.

·         Experience working within an ISO 9001 qualified environment.

Experience driving a box truck.

Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility to work in a large factory setting with walking, pushing, lifting, standing, and sitting, while maintaining PPE requirements.
  • Shift: M-F 10 hours daily (6a-4:30p), with frequent Saturday work.
  • Some local travel with company vehicle may be required. Clean driving record required.

Reporting: This position reports to the Material Supervisor.

Salary Range: $20-$21 per hour.
