What You'll Do
As a Baler Operator, you'll play an important role in safely handling and preparing paper by-products for recycling by:
  • Operating recycling equipment that shreds, compresses, and bales paper by-products from the printing process.
  • Threading and securing tie bands around completed bales.
  • Removing finished bales from the baler and transporting them to storage using pallet jacks, hoist trucks, or forklifts.
  • Weighing bales and maintaining accurate records of weights and material grades.
  • Performing daily forklift inspections and completing equipment checklists.
  • Performing routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenance on baling equipment.
  • Clearing paper obstructions from the cyclone system when needed.
  • Assisting with loading bales for shipment and completing shipping documentation as needed.
  • Photographing containers and seals for shipment verification when required.
  • Following safe work practices while working with a supportive team.

  • Operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or hoist trucks.
