Overview


Tanaq Government Services (TGS) provides facilities Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services to Federal customers. Services provided include complete building maintenance and operations on large complex individual buildings as well as multiple buildings on large campus type environments including military installations. TGS is a subsidiary of the St. George Tanaq Corporation, an Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC) committed to serving Federal customers while also giving back to the Tanaq native community and shareholders.


About the Role


We are seeking an Aircraft Servicer, Transient Alert (Part-time, On-call) to provide onsite Transient Alert services for military and civilian aircraft with on-call availability as needed.


This is a fully onsite position at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, HI.


Responsibilities

  • Direct incoming and outgoing aircraft near terminal or flight line parking area to assist pilot's maneuvering of the aircraft on the ground, using hand or light signals or driving a light truck with guiding sign, and secures aircraft in parking position with ground chocks and tie-downs.
  • Coordinate all transient aircraft parking with the airfield manager and base operations.
  • Remove and install landing gear safety pins, engine intake/exhaust plugs, along with other aircraft plugs and covers; flight control operations check; perform overall aircraft safety check (leaking fluids, tire condition, hot brakes, etc.).ย 
  • Position and remove boarding platforms and maintenance stands for loading or unloading aircraft passengers.
  • Complete or assist with aircraft fueling operations.
  • Perform Foreign Object Damage (FOD) inspections of airfield and taxiways as required.
  • Must maintain the required Airfield Driving certification and any other required license as required.
  • Advise the maintenance control center with all transient aircraft maintenance status, parking locations, fuel requirements, and any ground support equipment needed.
  • Preposition support equipment such as fire extinguishers, ladders, chocks, and ground wires as required.

Requirements


Required Experience and Skills

  • Prior experience providing onsite transient aircraft services and support for military and/or commercial aircraft preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from customers and others.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Human relations skills to build effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem solving and common-sense skills.
  • Abide by the Federal Drug-Free workplace policy.
  • Must be able to pass background check requirements as set by clients.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Must possess and maintain U.S. security clearances at the minimum classification level of "Secret", or the ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a National Agency Check Investigation.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule, weekends and holidays as required.
  • United States citizenship is required.

Education and Training

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Pay Range


The projected hourly pay range for this position is $38.45/hour USD, which includes $5.36/hour for Health &Welfare.

This is a Service Contract Act (SCA) position. Health & Welfare, vacation, holiday and sick leave offered will be as defined under the DOL's Wage Determination.
