Job description

Introduction All applicants must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug test in order to be employed. If you would like to be considered, please review the requirements below then complete and submit an employment application AND supplemental questionnaire form Examples of Duties Recreation Centers/Parks/Playgrounds/Pools Summer Recreation Leaders: Applicants must be at least 18 years or older; possess a high school degree or equivalent; be able to commit to a 10-week schedule; be able to attend paid training sessions. Directs a variety of recreational leadership and educational activities at an assigned recreation center or playground.

Supervises participants in individual and group games, arts and crafts, sports, and special activities, in addition to coaching and officiating team activities. Will be required to participate in both indoor and outdoor instructional activities, work with participants of various ages, may work varied hours including evening and weekend hours, and work at various locations. Some experience and/or education working with children in art instruction, recreation or physical education is desired.

May be scheduled up to 40 hours weekly. Summer Recreation Youth Leaders: ($15.00/hour) Applicants must be 16 years or older and be able to commit to a 10-week schedule; be able to attend paid training sessions. Assists with activities in an all-day seasonal camp and/or after-hours program for youth

Hours will vary and may include evenings and weekends. Good customer service skills are a must. Proficient computer skills are required with the ability to use web-based software and follow formatting procedures.

This position does not require a lifeguard certification. May be scheduled up to 40 hours weekly. JBL Rowing Camp Leaders ($15.00/hour) Applicants must be at least 18 years or older with some experience working with school age children in a lead capacity or participation in rowing is preferred; a valid Florida driver's license may be required; be able to commit to a 10-week schedule; be able to attend paid training sessions

Must be able to perform work requiring physical stamina in an outdoor setting, ensures the safety of campers in a sports environment and to perform a high level of developmental instruction in rowing. Youth Leader ($15.00/hour): Assists with activities in an all-day rowing program for youth. Applicants must be at least 16 years old
