What is a 1099 sales representative?

A 1099 Sales Representative is an independent contractor who sells products or services on behalf of a company but is not an employee of that company. Instead of receiving a regular salary, they typically earn commissions based on their sales performance and receive a 1099 tax form to report their income. These representatives have the flexibility to set their own schedules and may represent multiple companies at once. However, they are responsible for their own taxes, benefits, and expenses.
