Job description

Controls Engineer – Direct Hire
Location: Sturtevant, WI
Salary: Up to $100,000
We’re working with a well-established manufacturer that designs and builds highly automated production equipment used across multiple industrial applications. Their focus is on developing custom machinery and continuously improving automation within their facility—making this a hands-on, high-impact engineering role.
This is a direct hire opportunity offering long-term stability, strong technical exposure, and the ability to work closely with both engineering and production teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Program, troubleshoot, and debug PLCs and HMIs on automated manufacturing equipment
  • Support new equipment builds, system upgrades, and retrofits
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on production machinery
  • Work with electrical schematics and drawings (AutoCAD Electrical)
  • Assist with commissioning and startup of equipment
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve system performance and reliability
  • Provide technical support to maintenance and production teams
Travel is listed at up to 25%, but in reality, travel is minimal and rarely required.
What You Need (Must-Haves)
  • 3–5 years of PLC programming experience
  • Strong experience with Allen Bradley PLC & HMI programming (Studio 5000 / FactoryTalk)
  • Electrical circuit troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and work with AutoCAD Electrical drawings
