Commercial Lines Underwriter - Large Growing Insurance Carrier - Base Salary to 100k/year - Honolulu, HI

  • Our client, a well-established and expanding insurance carrier, is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Underwriter to join their team in Honolulu, HI. This is an excellent opportunity to join and make an immediate impact within a stable, growth-oriented organization. This role requires success in managing agency relationships to support growth and enhance profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite and manage a portfolio of Commercial Lines accounts.
  • Analyze new business, endorsement, and renewal risks to identify exposures and determine appropriate underwriting actions (accept, modify, or decline).
  • Build and maintain strong agency relationships to drive growth, retention, and profitability.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes to adjust underwriting strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with underwriting team members and leadership to achieve branch production goals and enhance best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Insurance, or related.
  • 1+ year of experience with CMP, Commercial Auto, Commercial Umbrella, or Workers Compensation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/Google Workspace applications and underwriting software

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 90k - 100k/year range
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision for employees; 50% covered for dependents
  • PTO plus 13 paid holidays
  • 401k with 4% employer match
  • Casual dress environment
  • Hybrid schedule after 90 days (3 days in office / 2 days remote)
