Tax Supervisor | Wilmington, NC | $100K-$125K + Bonus

Our client, a Wilmington, NC-based financial services company, is launching a brand-new business unit focused on tax, accounting, and strategic advisory services for small and mid-sized businesses - and they're looking for a Tax Supervisor to help lead it from day one.

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing team, help shape processes from the ground up, and step into a leadership role that goes well beyond compliance work.

What You'll Do

Tax Preparation & Review

  • Review and prepare individual, partnership, S-Corp, and corporate returns
  • Review quarterly and annual tax projections
  • Spot tax savings strategies and explain them clearly to clients
  • Keep everything accurate, compliant, and on time
  • Be the go-to contact for a portfolio of clients
  • Translate tax results and planning recommendations into plain English
  • Build lasting relationships and deliver a top-tier client experience
  • Manage preparers and staff accountants, mentor and train junior team members
  • Oversee workflow across the firm's software stack
  • Help build out tax processes and SOPs for the new unit

Strategy & Planning

  • Design and execute tax planning strategies for high-income clients
  • Stay ahead of tax law changes and flag impacts proactively
  • Partner with leadership on process improvement and capacity planning

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of tax experience - REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, etc- REQUIRED
  • CPA preferred (EA accepted)
  • Strong grasp of individual, partnership, and S-Corp taxation
  • Comfort managing client relationships directly
  • Sharp attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with QBO, Onvio, UltraTax, or similar tools is a plus
  • A genuine interest in leadership and process improvement
