Job Title: Applications Security Administrator

Location: Houston, TX

Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt

100k-150k

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Applications Security Administrator to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for securing enterprise applications, managing user access, and supporting audit and compliance activities. You’ll play a key role in implementing and maintaining identity and access management tools, with a strong focus on SOX compliance, enterprise security tools, and application security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Management:

  • Administer and monitor user access across enterprise applications and systems
  • Lead and manage the implementation of identity and access management tools
  • Support ongoing administration of MFA, SSO, EDR, XDR, WAF, and other cybersecurity solutions.

SOX Compliance & Audit Support:

  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements related to application security and access controls.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support testing, reporting, and remediation efforts.

Security Monitoring & Risk Mitigation:

  • Monitor application security logs for unusual activity or policy violations.
  • Conduct periodic risk assessments of applications and systems.
  • Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to address vulnerabilities and apply best practices.

Policy & Procedure Development:

  • Create and maintain application security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate IT governance and compliance frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field—or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in application security, cybersecurity, IAM, and/or network security.
  • Hands-on experience with identity/access management tools
  • Strong understanding of SOX compliance and segregation of duties
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications:

  • CISSP
  • CCNP
  • CRISC
  • Or other relevant cybersecurity certifications
