Job description

Role Overview

Blue Owl (NYSE: OWL), a leading alternative asset manager with over $319 billion in AUM as of June 30, 2026 across Credit, Real Assets and GP Strategic Capital, is hiring an Associate for the Strategic Investment team within Blue Owl Insurance Solutions (BOIS). BOIS is Blue Owl's insurance-focused asset management business, serving nearly 100 insurance clients and managing more than $30 billion of insurance-related assets. The role sits in the New York office and works across strategic partnerships, asset structuring, and capital markets activities spanning private credit, asset-based finance, and real estate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support evaluation, diligence, negotiation, and execution of strategic transactions with insurance companies, including M&A, minority equity investments, reinsurance transactions, and bespoke capital solutions
  • Underwrite equity investments in specialty finance and origination platforms, analyzing origination volumes, unit economics, asset quality, and funding structures
  • Assist in evaluation, acquisition, and structuring of asset portfolios to meet insurance company objectives
  • Build and maintain financial models, including transaction models and insurer capital analysis
  • Conduct due diligence on counterparties, including review of financial filings and actuarial reports
  • Prepare investment committee memoranda, board materials, and client presentations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking (FIG, M&A or capital markets/structuring), insurance corporate development, actuarial advisory, or asset-based finance
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; experience with insurer GAAP/statutory financial statements preferred
  • Exposure to structured credit, securitization, or fund finance a plus
Compensation & Location

Base salary range: $110,000-$155,000, plus discretionary bonus eligibility. In-office Monday to Thursday in New York City.
