Job description

Job Title: Sanitation Associate I
Location: Calera, AL 35040
Duration: 4 Months
Schedule Training: Monday - Friday (7 AM to 330 PM)

  • Initial training schedule will be provided upon hire.
  • Following training, the associate will most likely transition to a shift of:
    • 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM


Position Summary

We are seeking reliable and hardworking Sanitation Associates to support warehouse cleanliness, safety, and organization. These positions play a critical role in maintaining a clean warehouse environment by removing debris, cleaning work areas, and assisting with material movement when necessary. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their warehouse skills and potentially transition into a full-time permanent position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout designated warehouse areas.
  • Travel throughout assigned warehouse sections to collect and remove larger debris such as:
    • Wood pieces
    • Shrink wrap
    • Label backings
    • Other warehouse waste materials

  • Move pallets as needed to clean underneath and around storage areas.
  • Dust warehouse racks and storage locations.
  • Mop and clean spilled products and other floor hazards.
  • Empty, clean, and sanitize trash receptacles.
  • Support overall warehouse housekeeping and safety initiatives.
  • Operate an electric pallet jack after training and certification.
  • Candidates demonstrating strong equipment operation skills may be trained and certified on a forklift.
  • For associates trained on a forklift, responsibilities may include moving pallets to allow for cleaning beneath storage locations and returning pallets to their original locations.


Qualifications
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
  • Previous warehouse, sanitation, janitorial, or material handling experience is preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to learn warehouse equipment operation, including electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Strong attention to safety, cleanliness, and detail.
  • Dependable attendance and positive work ethic.

Equipment Training
  • Electric pallet jack training will be provided.
  • Employees who demonstrate proficiency may receive forklift training and certification.

Work Environment
  • Positions are located within a warehouse environment.
