Material Handler

Material Handler Summary
We are looking for a reliable Material Handler to help maintain warehouse stock and assist in fulfilling orders. The Material Handler will be responsible for supplying material to production lines and replenishing Kanban carts. The material handler will also be responsible for organizing and maintaining inventory locations in the warehouse. Ability to operate a forklift is required. Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed to operate a forklift and are available to work overtime hours during the busier times of the year.
Essential Job Functions
- Gain and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Procurement and Material Management processes.
- Pull Material from Warehouse to replenish Kanban carts and production line staging areas.
- Conduct warehouse inventories, maintaining tally listings during the counting process, assisting in determining the reasons for overages, shortages, and expired items.
- Ensure safe storage and organization of supplies in the warehouse.
- Monitor inventory levels and suggest new orders when needed.
- Oversee inventory movement between stations to maintain stock levels.
- Use forklifts, handcarts, dollies, and other manual equipment to lift and move stock.
- Utilize the ERP System to lookup inventory quantities and locations.
- Support other production / administrative functions as assigned.
- Displacement of finished trailers from the QC area to the yard.
- Organization and maintenance of first in and first out procedure for completed trailers.
Essential Skills and Experience
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 2+ years' proven experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, or similar position.
- 1+ years' inventory management experience.
- Ability to lift loads of 50 pounds.
- Experience in using warehouse equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Computer experience with MS Excel and MRP systems is highly desired.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Experience backing up trailers a plus.
