Position Type: Semester Lecturer- temporary

The Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering seeks a qualified Semester Lecturer to provide instructional delivery for CONSYSM 4660 - Heavy Construction Management during the assigned academic term. The lecturer will have full responsibility for teaching and managing all aspects of the course throughout the duration of the appointment.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction for CONSYSM 4660 - Heavy Construction Management.
  • Maintain scheduled contact hours with students through classroom and/or laboratory instruction.
  • Hold regular office hours to support student learning and academic success.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance course materials, including e-learning content.
  • Evaluate student performance through assignments, examinations, projects, and other assessment methods.
  • Complete grading and provide timely, constructive feedback to students.
  • Participate in instructional team meetings and departmental activities as required.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of Undergraduate Teaching Assistants (UTAs).
  • Engage in and support university and departmental peer evaluation of teaching processes.
  • Participate in periodic accreditation assessment activities and curriculum-related reporting requirements.
  • Perform other instructional duties necessary for the successful delivery of the course.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Construction Management or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in heavy construction management and related industry practices.
  • Strong communication and instructional skills.
  • Ability to effectively engage and support a diverse student population.

This is a temporary semester lecturer appointment responsible for all instructional aspects of CONSYSM 4660 - Heavy Construction Management (3 credit hours). Workload will include classroom/laboratory instruction, office hours, preparation, grading, meetings, supervision of UTAs, and participation in required assessment and accreditation activities.
