About National Center for Urban Solutions Enterprises

At the National Center for Urban Solutions (NCUS) Enterprises, we are committed to transforming lives and communities through education, workforce development, and wellness. Our flagship programs, Academy for Urban Scholars High School, NCUS TEC, the African American Male Wellness Agency, and the Africentric Personal Development Shop, empower individuals and families across the country.

Role Overview:
The Cinematographer Intern will support video production efforts by capturing and producing high-quality visual content for campaigns, events, and digital platforms. This role is ideal for a creative storyteller with a passion for documenting impactful community-driven work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture video content for events, interviews, campaigns, and social media.
  • Assist with video editing and post-production, including sound, lighting, and color correction.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop compelling, story-driven video content.
  • Assist with shot planning, storyboarding, and creative direction.
  • Organize and manage video assets and project files.
  • Deliver edited content within established timelines for digital use.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Current student or recent graduate in Film, Media Production, Cinematography, or related field.
  • Proficiency with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve).
  • Strong understanding of composition, lighting, and audio capture.
  • Experience with documentary-style or run-and-gun shooting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and storytelling ability.
  • Portfolio or demo reel required.

Additional Requirement:

  • Must have access to and be proficient in using personal video production equipment, including a camera, lenses, audio gear, and basic lighting tools.

Time Commitment:
Approximately 6 hours per day, up to 5 days per week (up to 30 hours total), with flexibility in scheduling based on availability and project needs. Some evening and weekend availability may be required for events. We understand interns may be balancing school, work, and other commitments. This role is designed to be flexible while still providing meaningful, real-world experience.
