Job description

Surge Staffing is seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Social Media Specialist with a strong focus on design, video editing, and visual content creation. This role will center on producing engaging, high-quality social media content that captures attention and drives engagement across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about visual storytelling, stays on top of social media trends, and has hands-on experience with photo/video editing and graphic design tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Design:

Design and produce visually compelling social media content, including graphics, short-form videos, reels, and stories. Ensure all content aligns with brand standards and is optimized for each platform.

Video Editing & Production:

Edit and enhance video content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Add captions, transitions, effects, and music to create engaging, high-performing content.

Social Media Content Planning:

Assist in planning and executing content calendars with a strong emphasis on creative assets and visual storytelling. Adapt content formats based on platform-specific best practices.

Brand Visual Consistency:

Maintain a cohesive visual identity across all social media channels, ensuring consistency in style, tone, and messaging.

Trend-Based Content Development:

Monitor social media trends and create timely, relevant content (e.g., trending audio, formats, and challenges) to increase reach and engagement.

Basic Performance Insights:

Review content performance (engagement, views, shares) and adjust creative approaches to improve results.

Collaboration:

Work closely with marketing and recruiting teams to develop content that supports campaigns, hiring efforts, and brand awareness.

Content Optimization:

Adapt and repurpose existing content into multiple formats (e.g., turning long-form videos into short clips, resizing graphics for different platforms).

Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in social media content creation, graphic design, and video editing
  • Strong portfolio showcasing photo, video, and graphic design work
  • Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Strong understanding of platform-specific content (Instagram Reels, TikTok, Stories, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of social media performance metrics and engagement
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong visual storytelling skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Experience creating content for recruiting, employer branding, or staffing agencies
  • Familiarity with motion graphics or animation
  • Basic photography or videography skills
  • Understanding of branding and marketing principles
