Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Position may include supervisory responsibilities, including oversight of direct reports and support staff, as determined by operational leadership

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or related field required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in provider or clinical management with proven competence in metric-driven operations, including process improvement preferred

Technical proficiency to include Microsoft Office Products, Video Conferencing, Database Management, Scheduling software (QGENDA or Shift-Admin) and PowerBI

External Job Description and Responsibilities
The Vice President of Operations (VPO) serves as the liaison between TeamHealth and Mid-Ohio Emergency Services (MOES). The VPO, under the direction of the Executive Vice President (EVP), is responsible for operational performance of the MOES contracts. The VPO's specific focus is to ensure MOES and TeamHealth expectations and goals are met. The VPO works in partnership with the clinical and operational leaders and is the primary TeamHealth contact.
Essential Job Functions and Additional Responsibilities:
  • Availability and ability to appear on video on Zoom and other meetings, which may require virtual or in-person attendance
  • Requires frequent overnight travel, including car and air travel as appropriate
  • Prolonged sitting, including prolonged work in front of a computer, including the use of a keyboard and screen
  • Position requires manual dexterity and frequent use of the computer, telephone, office equipment, and the ability to perform repetitive motions required to meet productivity standards to comply with the essential functions of the job. Also, it requires physical and mental stamina to work additional hours beyond the regular schedule as needed
  • Communicate professionally and promptly, both verbally and in writing; analyze complex issues and provide accurate, well-reasoned information
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal, verbal, written, negotiation, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Apply sound judgment, decision-making, critical thinking, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and adapt to rapid change and high-pressure situations
  • Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage stress and conflict constructively
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Works with MOES leaders to ensure compliance with facility and TeamHealth requirements and helps to coordinate value-added services to meet evolving client needs
  • Works to achieve client and TeamHealth operating metric goals
  • Contributes to the development of annual budgets and is responsible for ongoing management of contracts to meet budget
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly operations meetings as directed by senior management
  • Monitor and manage financial performance by reviewing various financial reports and taking action where appropriate to ensure cost-effective operations
  • Manage compensation requests and coordinate market analysis with relevant departments and leaders
  • Work with MOES leaders to oversee client start-ups and transitions per TeamHealth protocols
  • Resolve urgent operational challenges (e.g., staffing, performance, compliance) with minimal disruption to clinical services
  • Collaborate with leaders and staff of the operational service centers to achieve optimal contract performance. These departments include, but are not limited to: Recruiting, Scheduling, Human Resources, Credentialing, Payroll, Risk Management, Documentation Education, Provider Enrollment, PSO, Compliance, Finance, and Legal
  • Assists with clinician compliance matters, such as but not limited to education, documentation, expirables, I-9s, and repayments
  • Actively involved in leader and clinician recruiting process
  • Work with MOES and TeamHealth leaders regarding potential Business Development activities
  • Provides oversight of direct reports (as applicable) including conducting performance reviews and providing feedback and coaching as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
