Job description

Overview:
36 hrs/week, nights, 7p-7a, every third weekend, holiday rotation.
Pay to commensurate with experience. Benefits eligible.
Job Description Summary:
Inserts and manages vascular access devices for patients undergoing medical treatments.
Job Description:
Essential Functions:
  • Assesses patients' vascular access needs and determining the most appropriate access device.
  • Cares and maintains peripheral intravenous catheters, midline catheters, and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs).
  • Monitors patients' vascular access devices for complications, such as infection, occlusion, and extravasation.
  • Provides education to patients and their families on vascular access care and maintenance.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement vascular access policies and procedures.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the safety and efficacy of vascular access care.

Education Requirement:
BSN or Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire, required.
Licensure Requirement:
Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio, required.
Skills:
  • Clinical skill and knowledge in the nursing care of children including normal growth and development and/or clinical expertise in specialized area, required.
  • Effective customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teaching abilities, required.
  • Professionally appropriate analytical and organizational skills, required.

Experience:
One year post orientation related clinical experience in area of specialty, preferred.

OCCASIONALLY: Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Chemicals/Medications, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Flexing/extending of neck, Fume /Gases /Vapors, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Loud Noises, Patient Equipment, Reaching above shoulder
